A portrait, printed on quality paper, framed and hung on the wall, is a memory that lasts forever.
It is a memory first of all for ourselves, a reminder of who we were at that moment in our lives, and, just as importantly, for future generations: how many times have we looked through photos of our parents, grandparents or great-grandparents, printed in black and white and carefully kept in photo albums?
Digital photography, with all our photos shared on social media, is dangerously killing off prints (though things are changing!): no more photos kept in real albums or hung on the walls, just digital files “stored” who knows where on our computers or in the “cloud”. With the risk of losing everything!
How many photos, how many memories can you no longer find, lost in old smartphones or, worse, deleted by mistake?
